For patients

Finally, a specialist who understands your lip.

Dermal filler treatment designed specifically for adults born with cleft lip, by practitioners trained in cleft anatomy, scarring, and the technique it takes to get natural, balanced results.

Specialist consulting with a patient

You are not asking for too much.

If you have been turned away, talked out of treatment, or left with results that didn’t sit right, it wasn’t you. Cleft lip anatomy is simply not covered in standard aesthetic training, and the injection technique needed is the opposite of what most practitioners are taught on a typical filler course.

That is exactly why CleftInject™ exists: to train practitioners properly, verify them, and list them in one place so you can find a specialist who already understands what your lip needs.

What is CleftInject™?

CleftInject™ is a specialist dermal filler technique developed for adults born with cleft lip. It uses a slightly firmer filler than a standard lip appointment, placed strategically around scar tissue and the areas that need structure, so your practitioner can rebuild shape, symmetry, and definition rather than just adding volume.

It was created by Lindsay Owens, a Level 7 injector with over 8 years in clinical aesthetics and 5 years specialising in lip and reconstructive treatments. Every practitioner listed in our directory has completed her training programme and had their qualifications verified.

Why a cleft specialist matters.

A standard lip filler appointment is built around anatomy that is already symmetrical. Cleft lip anatomy is not, and that changes everything about how the filler should be placed.

A standard filler practitioner

  • Trained on symmetrical lip anatomy
  • Uses softer filler aimed at volume
  • May have no experience with scar tissue
  • May turn cleft patients away, or treat them like a standard case

A CleftInject™ specialist

  • Trained specifically in cleft anatomy and scarring
  • Uses a firmer filler to create structure, not just volume
  • Understands how scar tissue responds to filler
  • Tailors a treatment plan around your lip, not a template

What to expect from start to finish.

A clear, honest walk-through of what treatment looks like, from your first consultation to your settled result.

01

Consultation

Your specialist assesses your cleft anatomy, scarring, and symmetry, then builds a personalised plan around what you want to change, including whether one session or a short series is right for you.

02

Treatment

The treatment itself takes 30–60 minutes. Topical anaesthetic is applied first. Filler is placed precisely around scar tissue and the areas that need structure, rather than purely for volume.

03

Healing

Swelling, tenderness, and short-term asymmetry for a few days is normal while the filler settles. You will typically see your true, healed result at around four weeks.

04

Results & follow-up

Results typically last 9–18 months. Some patients reach their goal in a single session; others benefit from 2–3 sessions spaced a couple of months apart. Your specialist will guide you.

What good results actually look like.

Cleft-specific filler is not about bigger lips. It is about symmetry, contour, and balance. Natural changes that work with your existing anatomy rather than trying to override it.

Most patients tell us they wanted to look like themselves, just a little more even, a little more defined, a little less visible in the mirror every morning. You’ll find specialist-specific before and after galleries on each practitioner’s profile in the directory.

Individual results vary and depend on your specialist’s assessment. Photos shown with patient consent.

Is cleft lip filler right for you?

Designed for:

  • Adults aged 18 and over
  • Bilateral and unilateral cleft lip
  • Patients whose cleft was surgically repaired as a baby
  • People who want to refine symmetry and shape without more surgery

It may not be right if:

  • You are under 18
  • Your cleft has not been surgically repaired
  • You are looking for results that only surgery can provide

Your specialist will be honest with you at consultation if filler isn’t the right path, or if another approach would serve you better.

The things people actually want to ask.

Honest answers to the questions most patients quietly wonder about before they book, covering cost, pain, safety, and what to expect afterwards.
